I Hate School!

我讨厌学校!

A.J., a second-grader, declared his hatred for school on the first day.
He liked football and video games.
He told his teacher, Miss Daisy, that he hated school, and the other kids laughed.
A.J. felt that children could learn everything they need to know from TV, like which breakfast cereals taste best, which toys to buy, and what shampoo leaves hair shiniest.
He found school a pointless thing created by adults to avoid babysitting.
He planned that his own children would not go to school.
They could ride bikes, play games, and have fun.

A.J. wanted Miss Daisy to know how he felt about school right away.
Surprisingly, Miss Daisy said she hated school too!
This surprised A.J., and he wondered how teachers could hate school but still be teachers.
He thought teachers loved school. He could not imagine an adult wanting to go to a school.

Miss Daisy explained that if she didn't have to teach, she'd be home relaxing on her comfortable couch, watching TV, and eating bonbons.
Ryan, a student next to A.J., asked what bonbons were.
Miss Daisy described them as delicious, wonderful chocolate treats, about the size of a large acorn, that could be eaten whole in one bite.

Andrea, a girl with curly brown hair, said how delicious bonbons sounded.
Miss Daisy seemed pretty cool.
A.J. realized he might not hate school after all, since he and Miss Daisy had something in common.
